• Bringing One Child Home

    line
International adoption is close to my heart. In October of 2008 my wife and I began the process to adopt a child from Ethiopia. The long process so far has afforded us time to appreciate more than ever the daunting number of orphans across the continent of Africa. That a child would have no one to call mother or father, grandmother or grandfather breaks my heart. In Sub-Saharan Africa alone, about 43 million children live as orphans. Try to let that number sink in. It\'s equivalent to 58% of all the children in the US. Imagine more than one half of all of our kids living without a family to care for them.

American Christians are longing for significance. African Christians are longing for support. We need each other. It is time for the church in America to put to work its incredible resources to come alongside the church in Africa which is boldly proclaiming the gospel while working to meet the unbelievable humanitarian needs of a continent.

Our goal with 4Africa4Life.org is to help you build connections with people and organizations that are working to bring life to a continent. Africa doesn’t need our charity. Africa does need our support. The difference between the two is wider than the ocean which separates our two continents. We hope to add our voice to the chorus of American Christians that have begun to understand how to support the life of a continent, and to receive life in return.
